In Krishnanagar, police have initiated an investigation into the suspicious death of a college student, with a particular focus on her relationship with her boyfriend. The victim's tragic demise has raised concerns over her emotional well-being and the circumstances surrounding her final hours.
On October 15, the victim made a concerning 21 phone calls to her boyfriend’s close friend between noon and 11 PM, reflecting her escalating anxiety. According to police sources, these calls reveal that she was desperately trying to reach her boyfriend, expressing worry about his unresponsiveness and inquiring about his whereabouts. The intensity of these communications suggests she was experiencing significant emotional distress leading up to her death.
Further inquiries into the boyfriend’s background reveal a complicated history. Before dating the victim, he was in a serious relationship with another woman from Sonarpur, which ended approximately a year ago. Reports indicate that during that relationship, he engaged in traditional customs. After their breakup, he met the victim through social media, and their relationship quickly intensified, culminating in the victim moving in with him while he was employed in Bengaluru. However, due to family pressures, she returned home after a month, contributing to a strained relationship.
On the day of the incident, the boyfriend was reportedly out with another female companion in Ranaghat, seemingly unaware of the victim's distress. After finally speaking with her through his friend’s phone, he informed her of his desire to end their relationship. Witnesses reported that the victim reacted with despair, threatening suicide during the call. Following this conversation, she reportedly separated from the group and tragically took her own life using kerosene.
Authorities are thoroughly examining digital evidence, witness statements, and the timeline of events to uncover the details leading to the victim’s death. Police have urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward.
